January 2014 Book Selection

January's books, discussion, and activities are for grades 7-12.
To "officially" sign up to participate in this month's discussion and activities, please join the Wiki. Then, post on the Discussion Board under the "Introduce Yourself" thread by 3:00 PM Friday, January 17.

The January books selection is the participants' choice of one of the 2013 Great Graphic Novels. Click on any of the links to see these book choices.

Participants are responsible for obtaining a copy of the book.

Participants are excepted to:

• Read the assigned book(s) for the month.
• Respond to the discussion questions.
• Respond to other participants answers in separate posts.
• Create a lesson using the book(s).
• Meet together for 1 hour to further discuss the books and share lesson plan.

Discussions need to be posted and Lessons need to be emailed by 9:00 PM Sunday, January 26.

We will mee to discuss the books on Monday, January 27 from 4:00 PM - 5:00 PM in the Timken Library. Please enter the Timken Commons from the 4th St. parking lot at Door 2. The Library is on the second floor, up the big, blue staircase.

1. In a Word Doc or PDF file, save and name your lesson plan with your name and the title of the book (Example: Mindy E. - Friend with boys)
2. Email Mindy your lesson plan at engler_m@ccsdistrict.org
